Bandipora, Apr 19: “Bazm-e-Sukhan Mehfil- An Open Mic Multilingual Poetry Event”, a vibrant literary gathering was held on Sunday at La Vista Restaurant in Bandipora, bringing together eminent poets and emerging voices in an open-mic poetry session that celebrated linguistic diversity and social consciousness.
The event witnessed soulful poetic recitations in Kashmiri, Urdu, and English, with themes revolving around love, peace, and universal humanity.
Alongside its literary charm, the mehfil also served as a platform to highlight key social issues, including drug abuse, environmental concerns related to polythene use, and the importance of mental health awareness.
Renowned Sufi poet Munawar Parwana attended the event as the Chief Guest, while noted Urdu and Kashmiri poet Sagar Sarfaraz was the Guest of Honour.
Both appreciated the initiative, stating that such platforms play a crucial role in connecting traditional literary expression with contemporary societal challenges.
